found about 300 of these guys chilling at the bottom of a pillar of pilchards in about 30 feet of water today, i figure they are some common fish somewhere in the world, but its the first time ive seen them in these waters, anyone know what they are?

its about umm.. 7 inches long or so, was a nice blue color on its back, can u eat them? :p

It is usually helpful to state where on this big blue globe you reside :)
Makes ID'ng fish much easier....
 
yea, sneaked up kind of above them, under the pilchards, practicing my stalking technique :)
