I'm going to sell my 2 AB Biller Padauk guns to try and buy a Euro style railgun and need your help on picking out a brand and size. I live in the Fl Keys and spear the reef line in 25-50 ft of water, the vizability is usually great and there is lots of coral to hunt around; what size and brand of railgun do you think would suit those conditions best. I was thinking that a 100-110cm size whould be best, what do you guys think? I've been looking at RA, Omer, Sporasub, Picasso, Esclapez, and Rabitech. Which of these brands to you guys use and what size. I'd really like to hear from someone in South Florida or the Keys. Thanks for your help.

I think that they make other ones too but looks like you buy them from www.subprof.com now ?

Or how about buying the parts and making one ?
Pretty satisfying (I am at the start of making one ... just waiting for Italian parts....)

Anyway the RA and Rabitech also have good reps.
Hope that is of interest - cheers Ed

Check out the new Vecta from RA. I haven't taken mine in the water yet but it looks sweet!!! so far. Very very smooth mech, and a very comfortable grip. It also has the nice feature of a top mounted safty and from what i hear it can (don't know why someone would want to but...) take two 20mm bands with ease. A great grip.

Rabitech is also a great gun, i own both a rabitech and a coupple of RA's and i'm happy with both. Both companies have great reps, Mike Damms at Florida freedivers is first rate with customer service and standing by his products (i know this first hand) www.floridafreedivers.com and Erik Sun of Sumora is great too (Rabitech)

Either way you couldent go wrong.

Totemsub is a great gun as well and people seem to like them a lot. I'v never used one though personally.

HHead is right, however Picasso actually makes a railgun called the Century Pacific. One of the things that can't be modified on a railgun usually is the fact that rails are also used to re-enforce the barrell creating less flex and thus inaccuracy. RA extrudes it's rails into the Barrell. Another fact is that standard railgun barrell diameter is 28mm and i think the Picasso is even 32mm. This also makes the barrell stronger and able to handel more power without loosing accuracy, after all that's what a railgun is. A Beefed up eurogun, it needs to keep the "Beefed up part".

I just looked at the Picasso pic and it looks nice. I'm sure it will work as the carbon will provide extra stifness to the barrell and make up for a smaller diameter.

4 that diving you should get a 110 or a 120
I lost a 4ft+ king mackeral in 40ft of water because I was usng a 90 excalabur with a light shaft it riped out and destroyed my shaft
