Nice job!

Can someone please explain to me the benefits of "band lifters"?

When you are using a loop band it passes through a hole at the front of the gun under the spear. The back end of the band with the wishbone sits on top of the spear. This means that compared to the spear the band will run "downhill" to the front of the gun. This can be disconcerting when aiming the gun. Looking straight along the top of the gun is fine but if you get a glimpse of the side of the gun your eyes can sight down the rubbers not the spear. "Band lifters" raise the front of the looped band so that it runs parallel to the spear when viewed from the side. This aids sighting the gun especially for instinct shots where you are not carefully aiming by looking along the top of the gun but firing by instict.

Adding to what Dave said, when I installed the HH muzzle, it reduced the noise level on cayman also the barrel did not scratch as much. I am not sure if improved the accuracy since the gun was very acurate before, and is still very accurate. Since I bought another cayman, but HH has raised their prices for muzzle (somewhat upsetting), I think Dave solution is very elegant !

hi dave

i like the way you did the work

i have some points of view
i had this gun for 3 years
i used it only open muzzle circular band with daynema
1 if you want the america 6.3 shaft with sharkfins fit well on the gun
but i prefer a better shaft such as seatec or salvimar
they are stronger ones
2 please replace this rubber you have , you loose power
useing a rubber in this condition
3 the concept is nice but a fins insted of the tube will be better idea
4 use 18 mm rubber in 57 CM lenght with dynema will be the best
for this gun
5 you can use open muzzle completly , removing the plastic on the muzzle

good luck mate with the fish

Thanks for the imput Mundial.

Since last I have trimmed another 6mm off the width of each lifter and it looks better but still supports the bands.

I searched the Net for a good supplier of tabbed spears including the alternatives mentioned. Didn't have much luck, so in the end I emailed Apnea in Jersey as they are Omer dealers and only 20 miles away from me. Got an instant response from Steve who said he would check their store of spears and if no joy he would add some to their next Omer reorder. Good service.

Dave.
