Hey Paul, or others who know, what happens in these comps - if the weather isnt great do you go ahead anyway? do the good guys catch fish no matter what?
shame its too far for me, i'd be interested to watch.

Jonny in most circumstances when the weather is too bad to fish, ie big swell which knocks the viz, there is normally a back up date when this comp will be held. Good guys can catch fish in almost zilch viz, i remember reading about a Chilean guy who won the world championships catching fish in 4 foot visibility.

Dear All,

Bad news I'm afraid.

After careful consideration the Exe Club commitee have made the decision to postpone the Teignmouth Boat competition on Sunday 16th May.

The reasons for postponing are:

Consistant Easterly, North-Easterly winds over the last 10 days, which has dramatically reduced visibility in Torbay.

May water, which again has reduced visibility.

The are very big tides over this weekend

Finally, the fish have not arrived in any numbers yet in the area.

We are now proposing to hold the competition on Sunday 6th June - from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

This will allow time for the water to warm and hopefully the fish should be in greater numbers!!

The club have worked very hard to produce unique trophies and prizes with a good food planned for after the competition.

Thank you for your support
