I ordered a d-4 and I could possibly cancel tomorrow so I thought a pole would shed some light on the subject.

F10 for me:

- price better
- usability easier (my opinion)
- user changable battery
- BIG numbers on screen easy to see at depth
- less functions to deal with that i wont use (scuba, nitrox etc)

D4 is good just has some issues that i cant stand (battery mainly) and cost, but a good computor none the less, and superior is you want to use it for scuba as well.

GEO is pretty good but lacks theextra freediving features of the F10 or the D4 (OCEANIC and AERIS are sister companies) so basically the F10 is the freediving Brother of the GEO.

how much are you paying for the d4? my buddy just ordered one and got it for around 400 online. I will try to find out which source he got it from. I got my D4 for 350 and that was at cost through a dealer so I cant imagine 400 being a bad price.

Blaiz,

ebay has it anywhere from $419-$589:naughty
Leisure Pro $500new, $350 used
DeeperBlue store advertise says $393 but it's not there

So $400 seems like good price and Your $350 sounds great

Having to send it in for a battery was the deal breaker for me - and the D4 has had problems of its own.

I think it's and excellent gauge though.

Thanks for all the help. It is a great thing to be able to get the opinions of experienced divers! I value your opinions a great deal.

I canceled my order for the D-4 and ordered an F-10. Like Fondueset, I agree that sending the unit in for a battery change would be a pain. Another plus is that it was designed for freedivers.

Had an issue with the d4 and it was resolved within 2 weeks. Glad it happened in winter and not summer. Very happy with it and suunnto though. I used to do some scuba so it made more sense to have it than a pure freediving computer.

That makes sense. I never scuba dive unless my job requires it (fixing a mooring or something) and it's usually something I can do quick so I don't need a dive computer. Thanks for the input.
