was looking at the Tv guide and on Gordon Ramsey`s F word on Wednesday 16th it says he is off spearfishing for bass.

I took him out diving back in June to do the filming for this. It was a fun day out, will be interesting to see what they make of it in the program
cheers

Great program.

He seems to be showing the slaughter of animals a lot more in this series - turkeys last week, his 2 pigs this week etc.

Horrid to watch, but as an avid carnivore I think it's good that people see that kind of thing to appreciate that meat doesn't just come from a plastic tub at Sainsbury's. I never waste meat and I hate seeing other people do so. If you appreciate life then you appreciate the food on your table even more. Similarly Jamie Oliver slaughtered a goat in his Italian series as he felt he needed to understand the whole process of providing food.

A teacher friend of mine had an exchange Primary class once and he took them to the countryside. About half of the children had never seen cows before, yet they'd eaten beef all their life!!! :duh

This will also be a great opportunity to highlight the greatest method of fishing there is. People are trending to more organic, hand reared, hand caught foods these days and I imagine Ramsey will put a good slant on it.

Hmm, getting hungry now...

I just watched it, pretty brief but entertaining! Did he actually catch those fish, or did they end up his belt magically somehow? As a video editor I noticed that there was a bit of incontinuity between some of the shots when he was reeling them in....I just wondered :)

Was he a good spearfisher? He seems quite good for his first time... (there's a chance for me! :) )

Great little snippit Spearo Dave.....did some good for the sport. I also want to know whether he shot those himself?
Note to self : buy shares in a spearfishing course/experience companyrofl

when he said we're off to plymouth for a bit of spearfishing
I was just waiting for Howards chops to appear! but it was someone different for a change! :)

thought that was pretty cool showed spearing in a positive light for a change - check Dave out with the Spearo logo's everywhere ! good work

Great stuff Dave did nothing but good for the continuation of our sport.
But for the first time out and in 10 meters of water did he really shoot those bass.
Come on we’ll all keep it quite.:) :)

A nice little piece. Gordon seemed rather at ease with it all, did he have previous experience? Saw him descending with his hand clasped around the rubbers though, which could hurt something it went off!

So much for the 'secret location' then Dave, not that it was probably unheard of as a fishing spot. Did you ask them not to tell where? If only I had a boat. Hmm...rofl What was that fat fish that Dave landed in the boat, it looked like a pollack type thingy and it looked biiig:t

Gordon was very comfortable in the water, I think he has done quite a bit of Scuba diving before. He was very, very keen to spear a fish, swimming at high speed from point to point with a cameraman gasping for breath behind him. Managing to shoot 3 bass on his first time spearfishing? Thats the magic of television for you:hmm
The fish I was shown dropping in the boat was an 8lb pollack
The bass with saffron and fennel cooked on the barbie was fantastic
cheers

Darn, missed it - busy painting the house last night. All sounds very positive though. Must try to catch it on the repeats. Please post if you see it coming up again. 8lb pollack -- it would take about 24 of the pollack I have seen this year to make 8lb!:D Save some fish for me -- will be down in Cornwall one week from Sat., all being well - can't wait.:)

I thought they made it into a great piece of tv.

I am just consoling myself that it is indeed the magic of tv that allowed him to spear 3 bass in 10m of water on his first go. I certainly had a rant to the wife about it at the time as she laughed at my hours spent and feeble efforts to catch bass!

I feel like a f#@!ing action man - brilliant

Like Mr X I missed it but my excuse is I was in a field in cornwall!!

Dont suppose anyone recorded it did they??
