I know this isn't exactly a apnea news or related news, but still i feel that anyone who dedicate their entire life to protect and promote wildlife conservation deserves a few words on this board aswell. Steve Irwin died this morning after beeing stung in the chest by a stingray, while shooting a film of the coast of australia. Steve Irwin is was known for his award winning program "The crocodile hunter".
Beside his work with landbased creatures, Steve also worked with the conservation of marine life and reefs. In the latest years, Steve worked with the conservation and researching in his favorite marine animal, the seaturtle.

I think anyone who work with protection of and promotion of marine wildlife, in some way help to promote diving and freediving aswell.
