Farallon Snorkel Wanted!!

Happy New Year guys.

Yeah, I know the feeling Bill. Some of my best work these days is done on my back...

The notion of decreasing the mouthpiece's cross section is interesting. Would you do it so you don't have to have the mouth of a warsaw grouper or just to streamline the thing. then again the idea of streamlining the whole thing, tube, elbow, and mouthpiece sounds pretty sexy. Forming the tube into an oval or oblong shape would help it keep it's shape while allowing it to be made of a flexible rubber ala the OMER unit out now. I don't know if another swivwel would be needed at the actual mouthpiece in addition to the one in the elbow. That plastic coupler that allows for rotation would be the hard and expensive thing to modify for streamlining- it'd be nice if all this was available in a Grainger catalog.

Still no replies from the post I put out in the SCUBA section of this place. Elitist scum.

Yeah Bill, hanging in H-land sounds like the sweet way to loll away a few. I've been meaning to get there for years, having friends on Kona and all, but never had the resources and $ and all the usual ex needing more stuff. Maybe this is the year. Where and when?

Not my notion. That's the way my Farallon is. Seems like a bad design. Not so bad now that the breathing rate is much slower. Wasn't there supposed to be a super new Riffe snorkel. I haven't seen what Jay did but he's good with design.

Kona is the place. Friendly pool and good ocean access. Winter is high priced and the weather isn't perfect all the time. May(before all the inflation hits) and late Oct(hopefully have a hundred of the world's greatest here) are better for a visit but this is the best weather zone I've ever seen. Water 70-80F and 50' viz is called poor.

Aloha
Bill
