Most of us freedivers own a monofin, the trouble is we tend to go real slow with them in an attempt to preserve O2 in an event which might see us travel some 30-60 metres half of which is a lazy glide. What we dont realise is that Monofins are inefficient when slow.

So here is the deal.

Enter yourselves in the Fin Swimming comp to be held on 26 Nov 2005 at Edenbridge, Kent from 4pm to 8pm. These are sprint races both dynamic apnea and surface races with snorkel over a range of distances from 50 to 400 meters.

Enter as a club member of 'Freedivers'.

Although I am not well enough to compete, I am sure Marcus Greatwood will be happy to co-ordinate things.

Stay wet folks.

greetings haydn,

is there any 400.000 m race you might want to compete in yourself?

regards,

Hi Roland,

I only came out of hospital 6 weeks ago, so a 400m sprint is out of the question for a while. 400,000 metres sounds ok, maybe a fin swim to France. Better to save the money though and put it towards 3,500,000 meters, lets get really extreme..............by the way, the hull is nearly ready on the new boat........

See you in Dahab or somewhere else very wet, soon enough.
