Looking at my first upgrade from a plastic to composite.
Here in nz a set of RUKU blades only = $350 which is ok i reckon.Dive R's about $465.
I like the look of the ruku's and are the cheaper option , they look like they will do the job but i want a fin that will handle abuse (shore diving) and in the rocks getting crays n paua.
Is the Ruku the fin im after ,or is there a affordable other option?
Will i gain in depth-bottom time as ive been told they will give me more propulsion for less effort??

There are differences in opinions on the increase. DAve Mullins did some tests and decided that plastic fins, if the right flexibility, were just as good as carbon

Personally, I prefer carbon or fiberglass because I have to think less about using them. My Imersion E-greens require me to think about how hard to kick, and the fancy fins just seem to do what I want. It's a mental thing, but increases the fun of the dive, even if it doesn't increase the efficiency.

Im currently asking myself the same thing. im in contact with mike from oceanhunter.co.nz and he says that:
"Both products perform very well in the water..I have not heard a bad thing about any of them. Both have good warrenties and from what I know none have had any faults that I know about..I know this is not helping much but I feel you wont go wrong with either. Ruku seems to be a bit cheaper, but mostly due to freight and exchange rates, as we import it from Australia"
