Hi all,

I just posted an invitation in the "Beach Bar" forum regarding a place I leased about 20 minutes South of Kona (Come and Dive in Kona!!!). It is less than ten minutes from Kealakakua Bay/Capt. Cook and Honaunau. I have a link posted on the invite.

I did this so that I could invite freedivers and spearos and other adventurous folks to come and see some beautiful Hawaiian water and maybe I could learn a thing or two in the process. The house is a 3000sqft 5bedroom place and quite comfortable. The diving is great, the hunting can include trophy blue water critters....I have seen Marlin while swimming next to shore....

If anyone is interested and wants to come and train or hunt, or just get a week or two away, drop me a line!!

I might be down that way over the summer. I'm from Florida and I'd love to give it a try down there.

I'll be honeymooning in Kona at the end May/early June (and so will be staying at my own place :) ), but would love to hook up for a dive with a local while I'm there.

heyyy i missed out last year, will definitely make it this year!

Hi All,
Everyone is welcome, it would be great to have you for a visit and put a face with a name. I am certainly not God's gift to freediving but I am really looking forward to the company and the opportunity to learn more.

The diving is good and it can be absolutely magical. When the dolphins come in it can get really interesting.

Although I am a freediver there is great tank diving to be had as well. You can walk in at Honaunau and many other places on the island. There are really good diver charters as well. I recommend Jacks Diving Locker for their Manta Ray dives.... very cool. I think there are several places that will fill your tanks for you.

Scott, come and swim. Bring your new wife. Stay for dinner. Maybe there will be other divers there as well. Also, there is a weekly gathering of freedivers every Sunday at Honaunau....

I will be wanting to swim constantly and always welcome a backup so check in! I will give you contact info and an address via pm.

Lungfish,

Thanks! I'll contact you as the time gets closer (Bill had mentioned the Sunday dives - unfortunately I'll only be in Kona from Monday through Saturday (bummer) and then on to Kauai for five days (still looking for some good spots there).

Scott

Well, thats fine too. Let me know when you are in and I will make some time for some swims....
