Finding Spearing spots with Google Maps - **Great Potential**

I've been thinking about how I can find good places to go spearing when the viz clears up...

...enter Google Satelite Maps which show beautiful, decent res views of all of our coastline! Brilliant! rofl

For example, I've been heard about this "good place" but have never been there, is it any good for spearing? Is it easy to get to? Is there a car park? Are there just a few rocks then sand, or do the rocks extend out to sea? Not really question I could answer from my desk at midnight huh? Think again! :t Some Welsh Spearos might recognise it!

I've had a good scan over the the North Wales Coast and on the whole, due to the good viz on the sat photos, I've picked out some good spots!

It's useful for finding (shallow) reefs and looking for new spots - all depends on the viz where you are!

If the water viz fails you, at the least it might help you pick out some suitable places to explore! Hope it helps!

hi mate give Flash Earth ...satellite and aerial imagery of the Earth in Flash a go as you can switch between google and microsoft maps.


Torbay is fortunate to have the aerial view photos microsoft did at the begining of last year and they have helped me find dive spots around my own area I would never have thought of.

Yep I ve got it as well!! look a bit further north and you have got the killer spot.......
