I am looking for advice please. I have seacsub s900 fins for general use but am thinking of getting shorter fins specifically for shallow water against walls and rock structures, sometimes in fairly heavy swell so they need to be able to take a beating;) I was considering jetfins or Hollis bats but do not want to spend the money if they offer no advantages. What do you think?

Longfins should be fine, but I like Mares Avanti Quattros for their power and durability and often take them on trips because they are shorter and are fine for -20m or shallower diving for me.

They require stronger legs and are on the heavy side... But do provide power.

Many thanks for the suggestion, I have considered them and checked them out on line, read the reviews and they seem to be very well thought of. I will go to a shop and get a feel for them, the shorter fins I tried before were oceanic vipers, which were ok but seemed to lack power. I ride my bike in a high a gear as possible to gain leg strength and when I needed power in the swell and wash near the rocks, the vipers didn't seem to provide it. My seac shouts did, but I like the shorter fin close in to the rocks, when being moved about by the water;) Thanks again.
