I have a friend that lives/works in Sicily, Italy who has offered to buy and then ship some fins for me.

I'm interested in some carbons but don't know which to buy. I've read about the Omer Rekords and C4s. Can anyone tell me what they cost there and what it would cost to ship? I'd be interested to hear what other fins are comparable in qualities but are less expensive there.

thanks

At carbon fins, you will rarely get a better price in retail than directly from the manufacturer. And since C4 is located in Northern Italy and only few stores have the fins on stock, they would need to ship it first to Sicily, so it would double the shipping cost. You better order them directly from C4. With Omer you may have a better luck in retail to get a price close to that of online stores, but unless your friend manages to find an end of season sale deal, you will very likely save some money (and hassle to your friend) if you order the fins directly at the manufacturer or at a online dealer.

Hi,

i can help you only by giving you the
c4 homepage: C4 Carbon

you can request a price list there.

To "trux": Hello trux, you seems to have an experience with everything and you are from the Czech Republic as me... so I have a question for you. I want to buy C4 Flap (25´s) blades, but I find it the most cheaper on Attrezzature subacquee nautica e campeggio Todaro Sport (the shop in Italy). The price for C4 Flap is 195 EUR, for C4 Falcon is 180 EUR... carriage costs are 10 EUR higher then C4carbon.com have, but it is still about 500 CZK cheaper then to buy from C4 fins. But I was told they didn´t provide any guarantee. They told me, that C4carbon.com also didn´t provide any guarantees in case of broken blades (what is main problem of C4 fins). Also I´m afraid of seriousness of less known Attrezzature subacquee nautica e campeggio Todaro Sport.
What is your opinion about that? Do you have experience with shopping from italy?
Thank you. Shark

C4 offers 24 months guarantee for all their products. At the manufacturer's guarantee it should not matter where you bought the blades, though they may require that you apply for it through the reseller anyway. If you have doubts about the seriousness of the reseller and the difference is only 500 CZK (~20€), you may consider buying the blades directly at the manufacturer or at a more serious dealer.

Shark I think there's no worry about the seriousness of Todarosport. It's a well known store with many years in the business. I'm in contact with many spearos who live in the area of Rome where it's at, and I haven't heard anybody complaining about issues from buying stuff at Todaro's.
Another store that I can personally recommend is Acquasport - Pesca subacquea - Apnea - ARA this is the store where I buy most of my gear and they have C4 products at a nice price. Flap 25 blades are 226 euro (pair) + a finbag as a gadget.
Drop a line to info@acquasport.com.
BTW. The only issue about buying from italy is the following:
italians don't speak english

Can't say anything bad about Italian made freediving gear. It would seem to me that almost ALL of the BEST freediving gear is made in ITALY!

Good food & foxy women too! ;) & oh yeah...Almost forgot the VINO! (wine)
