Hello everyone,

This is my first thread guys and please forgive any wrong spelling.
Does anyone have an opinion about the fins from Cressi Gara 3000 LD compared with any fiber blade or glassfiber blade fins when it comes to be used for 5-8 hours spearfishing in various depths(1-30 meters)
(I know the price difference)

Thanks
and
Happy New Year

If price doesnt matter then I would go with the fiberblade. Ive owned both the cressi and the waterway fiber blade. As long as you get the right stiffness youll be happy. Most people in hawaii get the #2 or the #3 stiffness and use it to go spearfishing at the depths you mentioned. I remember when I first made the switch to the fiberblade. It made a big difference in every aspect. youll notice this alot when swimming against current or comming up off the bottom. I used to get tired swimming against the current and used up alot of my energy. but with the fiberblade currents dont matter anymore.

Go with for the best fit. The 3000 lds are very good research the site you will hear many good things about them. Personally all my friends dive with them and they love them. However you cant upgrade those fins. If you're not looking for upgrades then I would recommend them. Now if you want to upgrade fins later on find your self a very comfortable foot pocket and pic a nice pair of blades. carbontek, xxone, matmass, spetton and maybe the C4 VTR's 25-30.

I also forgot to mention that cressi's are not ment for people with wide feet. They are pretty comfortable at first but after about a half an hour they really start to hurt.
I went from having
Omer Tuna Comp 2-3 years
Omer tuna footpocket with the waterway powerblade (fiberblade) 1-2 years
Unfortunatley lost my fins in a terrible kayak accident out at sea.
Cressi Garra 3000 less than a year (started to hurt feet) bought them because they were cheap.
Omer millenium footpocket with waterway powerblade.

you should take the fit of the footpocket into consideration I learned the hard way. the best thing to do is to try on the different changable footpockets then by the blades. the powerblades will fit into just about any footpocket available.

kynigos, what the kind of diving you do typically? long surface swims? mostly shallow, mostly deep? this could help point us in a better direction to answer you...

Thanks Kumuhunta for the info,

I agree that the most important (for me) is the foot pocket because of spending so many hours in the water(6-8)and then comes the stifness of the blades which of cource it has to do with the kind of spearfishing someone does(long distances, shallow or deep diving)
In my case using the Omer Millenium when it comes to their performance i find them
good.(i ve tried both blades, grey and black) It is just that after 3 hours about i get blisters and wounds on the top of my tows and under the ankle bones even wearing
3 mm socks and the footpockets are 2 sizes bigger than my normal size.
Therefore i was thinking to change the fins thinking about the Gara s or some fiberblade fins.
Your info about the fiber fins was exactly what i was hoping to hear. Swimming against currents and especially coming up off the bottom i find VERY IMPORTANT for many reasons.
For sure i will buy a pair of them as long i will find a nice soft footpocket to fit them in.
My problem is that is difficult to find free diving fins to try the f/pockets here in Germany where i stay in winter because the dive shops here dont have them.
I will go to Athens in february and there its easy to find any brand that exists only the
prices are a bit higher but any way i dont have to buy them there.
Anyway thanks a lot again for your info.

Be well my friend
