Hello all - been a long time lurker and this is my first post.

I'm kind of what you might call a freediving snorkeller rather than a 'pure' freediver, in that my main enjoyment comes from diving down to see stuff rather than trying to go really deep. For around 15 years I've been quite happily using my Tusa Liberater scuba fins with booties that I bought when I learned to scuba dive in Australia. Since then I've done no scuba diving, but a reasonable amount breathhold mainly only down to about 10-15 metres, maximum 25 metres tops.

I've not done any diving for a few years due to going on holidays that more suit my kids, but in a few months we're off to Hurghada, so I've decided treat myself to some proper fins. I've been through all the fin threads I can find, but they have made me more confused than ever!

I'm a strong swimmer (currently swim 2.5km 3 times a week fast), 6'4", 200+lb, size 10 UK feet that are wide and high arched. I will have to buy mail order since I live in Manchester, UK.

What I have learnt is that the Cressis I had my eyes on will be too narrow. So I've been considering the Omer Millenium Runners, Picasso Black Team, Imersion Greens, etc. I'm not concerned about having detachable blades, I just want the foot pockets to be comfortable considering my high arches and width and for the blades to be robust. Budget is not really a problem, since I don't intend to change them for another 15 years or so :)

Thanks a lot in advance for any advice.

Well I went and bought myself some Imersion E-Greens which seem to fit fine.

Thanks all for the fantastic help and advice......
