First BCD & Regs

Hi All

I'm looking for advise on purchasing my first BCD and Regs, having always hired these in the past. Budget is tight so looking for good value for money.
Have seen various items on the net for £100+ but there is so much to choose from. Best/comfortable BCD I last used was an old Scubapro.

Remember a few things:

Back Plate & Wing

Enviomentally Sealed First Stage

Balanced Diaphram


you already have a Depth guage (gekko) so a nice Brass/glass SPG will be a nice addition to your kit.

Have looked around and will probably go for the Scubapro Glide 500. Not sure about back plate and wings at the moment.

Also looking at Scubapro Mk2 1st stage and R295 2nd stage with a R190 Oct.
Scubapro also do a brass SPG.

There are some good prices on the net at the moment.

Find one to try, you will never go back to a jacket style BC again. I didn,t, and it's been 5yrs of wonderful, comfortable, stable diving

the Mk2 is a simple, effective piston reg with pretty good cold water rep. KEEP IT CLEAN. it's an unsealed piston and will suffer when it gets gunked up.

I'm a big fan of Balanced Diaphrams and Enviro Sealed units for cold water, but many people dive the Mk2 with out troubles.
