Hey everybody

I'm looking for a new wetsuit... I realy like the camo ones

Any tips for a beginner like me?

Do the protections of the camo suits scare the fish?

Peace

No, the fish don't really care if your wetsuit is camo or not. Some swear by them, some don't see a difference and there are even some people with bright colored wetsuits to attract those nosey fishes in the open ocean. It all comes down to personal preference.
A lot of manufacturers make good wetsuits, decide by what you want to get out of them. Proper fit is the most important feature, next warmth and then flexibility...

Thanks for the reply.
Any suggestions? I was thinking about a polosub n17 camo

Hey thanks

But this site has only 3 different wetsuits available... and the Green abstract Camo one is not that beautiful.

peace

Fair enough....
What you get from Oceanos is a custom made suite of very good quality for less than most off the shelf suits.
Cant have everything I guess!

I noticed that they are very cheap. But how do you know, that the quality is very good?

Next time you're in Italy, pop by at Omer. Their suits are of great quality (mine is 4 years old and still ok). Or check Spearfishing.de. However, I would go with foxfish advice - especially since you're just starting.

Most suits are very good nowadays & I think you can buy confidently from any of the major manufacturers.
I like Oceanos suits because they are custom made to fit you, how do I know they are good quality - because I own several but, more to the point there are hundreds of post on this forum praising the good value the suits offer.
If you want a particular camo design there are some beautiful suits out there, most are made from super stretch material & will fit average body shapes very well.
If you have the funds available & are prepared to wait then look for an Elios custom suite as they are also widely recommended as a fantastic suite to own & use.

Yes I probably will buy it from there (oceanos). I still have a question: what is bettet slick or nylon?
Thanks

Smooth skin (outer) is usually used for free diving, nylon for spearfishing. Smooth skin is pretty delicate and can't stand a lot of abuse.
Go with nylon for your first suit.
If you're talking the inside coating: open cell is warmer but you'll need to soap up to get in. Nylon again is less complicated

Yes I was talking about the interior So slick means open cell am I right? I'm used to get in my suit with soap so that is no problem.

Does anyone knows If Seac Sub is also good for spearfishing? They have a new suit: "Seac Sub Python" that has a realy cool camo

I have two Oceanos suits at the moment, one is the green camo with smooth interior & the other is a mixed black & grey (they will mix & match for you) with a nylon lined interior.
I use the nylon lined one as much as I can because it is so easy to use but once the temp drops below about 14c I use the smooth interior suit.
Lined suits last about 4-5 years for me & unlined about 2-3 seasons.

That helped me a lot. So you are saying that the difference between slick and nylon is only the temperature? And what do you mean by "they will mix it for me" I can choose or what?
And again thanks for your very informative answers

I bought a 5mm lined jacket with black arms, nylon lined & grey camo body.
Black 5mm long johns with 3mm smooth vest & lined legs & grey camo thighs....
i think all the options are available on their site but it might be at check out - i cant remember...
