I have just got my waterway nemo fins in the post - i tried them last night - they seem alot more responsive than the sporasub dessaults and alot more propulsion for less enegry - or at least it seems that way.

Good power up from the bottom (not very deep so far...but better than the sporasubs). I got stiffness #2.

Only thing is the footpockets - I use sporasub footpockets in 44-46 size and the WW Nemos are 44-45 and to be honest they are too tight across the foot with 3mm socks.

So jsut a warning for those thinking about buying these footpockets with similar sized feet. I am a wide UK size 10.5

The footpockets seem narrower than the sporas. bout the same length but def. narrower.

(Any tips on stretching them ? Or is it better to drill two more holes in the blades and put them in my comfortable spora footpockets ?)

A good move from plastic - I would recommend anyone thinking about a second pair to try the WW fins - seem good and a nice step up from plastic without having to worry about carbon fibre fragility (perceived or otherwise).

cheers
Ed

To drill or not to drill ?

Any comments ?

Am I introducing structural weakness ? Help please !

Ed , I think you will be fine drilling a couple of holes.
You won't weaken them that much.
I have heard of lots of people fitting alternative footpockets and having to do the same thing.
I personally find the Omer footpockets real comfy and I have a wide 9.5 foot.I use the 44-46 omer FP and 4mm socks.

Cheers Huan
I put them in my sporasub footpockets and added some marine silicone (black) goo - the blade fits tight anyway as it is a straight blade where there should be an angled blade (spora blades have an angle) so I think there is no need for any screws - should just stay in there and with the goo it wont move much I reckin - see how it goes tomorrow - got some dropped pots to haul up and claim salvage on ....

Cheers - Ed
