cut it into nuggets, deepfry with beer batter and MTL steak spice... YUM!!

excellent fish Erik! Cold Lake ?

Walleyes are good. Pike are better. Still, that is a really decent walleye and like Amphi says, will fry up a treat.

I like Pike, but I'm kind of Pike'd out at the moment. The Walleye are much harder to hunt (I enjoy the challenge), plus they really do taste better. Maybe it's our climate or the temps they live at. That said, a 10lb Pike got off my spear the other day and feign (on DB) got him 30 minutes later :(

Not Cold Lake Willer, but definitely IN a cold lake :)
By the way, the gun you sold me is being eagerly used by our newest freediver/spearo in Alberta, young James at 16. He's been hitting perch, and has just started to SEE the Pike. Soon he'll be nailing them. He's JPPLAY here on DB.
Cheers,
Erik Y.

Killer fish, Erik!

In the next few weeks I should be swimming with the big dogs. Up in Wyoming there's a res that holds pigs up to 15lbs!

Walleye are definitely my favorite fish to eat/spear in these lakes.

Don't be shy about the pics dude!

Thanks Andy.
Hey, isn't one of the projects you were involved in supposed to be smashing into a comet soon?
Peace,
Erik Y.

I actually just had a blackened walleye sandwich that my wife made for me. :p

Here's the 10lb Pike that got away, then Lee (shown) got it with the Riffe.
Peace,
Erik Y.

You freshwater divers need to start posting some more of those big trophy walleye pics. I've always heard so many stories from fresh water divers about walleye it really sounds like a fun fish to shoot.

The baddest Deeper Blue fresh water hunter, aka brown water hunter, should be showing the slob walleye pics on this forum. What is the IGFA fishing record for walleye by line fisherman and the biggest Canadian and US caught Walleye? Trying to get an even Deeeper perspective as to their size range.

And nice fish there Erik, I know it's a long winter for you Canadians and there's nothing like going diving at the lake when the ice finally melts. There used to be a gang in Montreal headed by Marc-Ste-Marie and Bert Tiapchong
and they've been out of the loop for a while but they had it down to a science. They would dive in our 6.5mm's in the ice as it was starting to break, and it impressed me so much we once used it as a wetsuit ad. The one thing I always remember them talking about as it was the Holy Grail of walleye spots was the Saint Lawrence river, ever dive there? Lot's of current but reportedly huge walleye.

Whoever took that pic of you Erik is a great photographer :) Also, JPPLAY hit his first pike last night in a river, good job.

Nice to see that someone here knows about the Brown Water Hunters! Not the most experienced yet, but I hunt in the Ste-Lawrence river, and it's an incredible spot. I'm sure it's one of the best freshwater spot around the world (and the law isn't too hard...)

Anyone is welcome!

I've seen some stuff about the Quebecois spearos and it was pretty impressive. I haven't been to that end of the country other than stopping in the airports, but would love to someday.
Peace,
Erik Y.

Hey Erik,

Congrats on the beaut' fish! Looks really tasty.... what out for the muskalunge, though... a few might have escape from the nether depths of the Great Lakes.

BTW, you have HAIR!
