About to buy my first pair of long fins and was wondering between these 3, what would you recommend.

Seacsub Shout S800
Seacsub Shout S900
Mares Instinct Pro's

I am 6'3, 175 lbs. Seems like a lot of people say the Seacsub Shout S800's are too flexible. I am not against soft fins but would hate for them to be too soft.

Thanks for any advice.

Hi WesPowell,

I only have experience with SeacSub and even then, just the cheap x-pro fins for around £30. The fit is comfortable and they are short enough for travel bags so I don't have to have a seperate fin bag but if the bottom of the foot pocket is the same on the SeacSub Shout and you use them indoors in a pool session you'll find that they slip a hell of a lot and I can't stand up in them in the shallow end.

They probably don't have the same footpocket/sole but just thought I'd mention it.

Ask about to see how flexible/soft they all are and the waters you dive in and then judge on that.

Well I went with the Seac Shout S900's.

The heel in the foot pocket is a little slippery but hopefully a set of fin keepers will take care of that. Also, the sizing is a bit weird. I have a 10.5 foot and so I tried the 44/45's and they were big. Took it down to a 43/44 (8.5-9.5) and they fit perfect with 3mm socks. They are fairly stiff fins. Just some info in case someone stumbles upon this post later on.

I got a pair of Marez Razor pros..awesome fins, does the job!
heal dosent slip, but fins feels alittle tight after some hrs in the water.. also sizing is alittle strange here, same as the post above..
