I'm about to buy a first speargun, and I'm unsure as to whether to buy a pneumatic gun or not. I'm on a very tight budget so I'm looking at the very lowest end (pricewise) of the scubastore range. I like the idea of a pneumatic gun but don't know whether or not that is what most people use. I also rather like the idea of a short - 60 or 70cm - gun, as I am a freediver first and foremost and I would like to have a gun with me on dives so that I might be able to bring back a fish or two for dinner. So dragging around a huge gun isn't my cup of tea.
What do you reckon - pneumatic or rubber? Any suggestions gratefully received,
Tom. :)

You will find the vast majority of spearos use band guns, i really like airguns myself although I own & use both types. Air guns are generally more expensive than band gun but pack more of a punch size for size.
A 90 air gun will have power & maneurability & is about the same length as a 75 band gun! You can also upgrade your air gun in the future & fit a mamba kit, this will really transform you air gun into something special.
