Hey guys. This is my first thread. I've been using a pole spear for a while now and im looking for a first speargun with enough options for upgrades. I think im going for a picasso cobra rail gun. Does anyone have any experience with this gun? I think im going for the 110 cm lengt just for the versatility. I'll probably annoy you all with some stupid questions since im just a beginner spearfisher and freediver. Looking foreward to learning!

Hi, and Welcome to the forum.

No questions are too stupid. :) Where are you going to fish, and what are you aiming to shoot

Thanks! Well almost always very clear water. Id like to use it as kind of an around gun. But more aimed to wars the reef since I don't own a boat. So shoredives it is but for the rare ocasion a friend is going on a boar trip then maybe targeting some lager fish. But no bluewater yet.

A 110 cm is a good size for that application. We generally caution new divers (or anyone) against trying to buy a single gun that does everything. The length of a gun is very important and most experienced divers eventually end up with several guns - presumably because they are trying to match the conditions with the gun.

We like to recommend a gun that matches the conditions you will most often encounter. On rare occasions you can try a shorter gun in blue water or a longer gun in dirty water, but eventually if you stay with the sport - you will be buying a few different guns.

Best wishes!

Dano
