need opinions. don't want to spend more than about $150 at this time. considering the mares razor pro and the mako competition freedive fins; wanted interchangeable blades to make travel easier. anyone have any first hand experience with either of these fins? pros/cons/why /why not. etc. any help would be appreciated. thanks

my advice is to buy cressi fins. not to buy interchangable.
it is not easy at all to change the blades.
more often they come apart after you install them.
by the time the blades are ready to be changed, the footpockets will be old too.
the cressi fins are great and cheap.
diveinn has them for 100$ a pair

I just got a pair of the Mako plastic blades and have them in a pair of Dessault footpockets. They seem to be a really good blade. The fiberglass in the blade seems to help with the quick return, and they are a medium stiffness, which I much prefer.

I have too many pairs of footpockets already, so I just ordered the blades. So, I have no direct experience with the Mako footpockets (unless, of course, they were to send me a pair to test).

The other thing to consider is the price. They are very inexpensive at present, and will likely go up. Judging by the blades, and what I ahve heard from others, Mako is producing high quality stuff, so it would be hard to go wrong with them

I tried my new Mako Competition blades in a pair of Dessault footpockets on Saturday.
They were awesome!
They are as good in cold water (43-50 F) as my Dessault/SpecialFins fiberglass medium BWS, and better than my E-carbons (very soft).
I simply didn't need to think about them during the dive.
i can now heartily recommend them.
Still don't know about the footpockets, so I still can't say anything about them.
