It depends on where you go, it's a big country. Anyway, the good season is starting
. Basically seas have tropical conditions South to Espírito Santo state. Rio de Janeiro southwards it's sub-tropical. The more accessible places have been much exploited. :waterwork

Terrible...over exploited seas...I went to fish in the north of Spain, Med side, looked dead, not lot of fish. :hmm...however...this side of Spain is amazing...fish everywhere...

It’s hard to describe where in Mexico the tuna were. I remember a few things, the boat was white, the water was blue, and there were 10 to 30 jacks every all over the place. There was a rock, and the man how ran the boat spoke some English and allot of Spanish. It's all sort of foggy. Sorry guys.
Oh I almost forgot , be sure to bring a flasher and use chum to bring up the fish, use cable on the slip tip.
I suppose you are talking about the Bajo, 50 miles northwest from Puerto Vallarta. Very nice place to go looking for ocean cows as they are referred to localy.
There are some other places with big tuna but now, the hot spot is PV and the Corbetena rock, the Marietas Islands and El Bajo.

Hi everybody!
I'm seeing lots of activities in the Mexican pacific, next time anybody wants to go spearfishing there, let me know I'll love to share some time, and boat expenses with any of you Anyway... Is not expensive at all!. Usually I spearfish in Punta de Mita (Right next to the "Four seasons" resort) in shallow waters despite that I like blue water hunting much better, but I have no spearo friends that can be reliable fishing partners (Very reliable and nice persons... But not capable of descending more than a few meters), what I do is to go to places between 3 to 8 Meters deep, that way they can enjoy the view and help me if I get in trouble, but always when I go bluewater they chicken-out :waterwork and if I say that I'll go to la corbeteña they just say no way!:head (Great spot for big pelagics, but deep and known for lots of big shark activity -two months ago a huge tigger shark scared the shit out of two spearos, it was about 12 feet long and extremely curious on these guys). So... If anybody is interested or planning a trip to this waters, let me know, I'll be more than happy to join you or to invite you to join me
