Don't want to be pedantic, but the two fish that Lee and Nobby are pictured holding are both 6lb bass, not mullet.

And yes, all of the fish (apart from Shiny's bass) were speared at night. I think I've done more diving this winter through doing night dives than I did during most of last year!

Matt, could you look any more p*ssed off with your amazing bass?! ;)

The brace of 6lb bass that Nobby and I had were both Daytime too.

Cheers :)

Oops, sorry mate, forgot to mention that one. I should've remembered that 'cos that was the day that I spent the morning with you guys, didn't see a thing, got out early to head home and then you both scored some really good fish around midday. Grr. :head

If you guys want to see more votes then someone should promote the poll on all the regional threads.

Yep fo shizzle... thanks for doing this poll Johnny... I was just logging in to do it ;)

By the way, Scoobaru's bass was actually only 1.5lb - he's just holding it really really close to the camera. That's why he looks so shifty.

My sole was in fact 9lb 3oz. I simply omitted to mention that. I fed 13 people with it. And some bread.

Hahaha it started out at 2lb then I stood on it to flatten it and filled it with pebbles.

lovely bass maybe one day I will catch one of them:)

Cheers mate. I always dreamt of catching a big bass, I set myself a target of 5lb to beat this year, and managed to beat that 3 times in one session. You just gotta keep at it and put the hours in, you'll get one.

Congratulations Scoobaru on that lovely bass :) it looks like you are the winner of the FOTW this year!!! :friday  Wear your crown with pride :king.

Also well done to Spearolee with that super mullet. good winter fishing.

Here's to a great 2012 and i hope you all have a good season. May the species be many, the waters be warm and the stories be told by many!!! :)

Thanks for crowning me, and thanks to everyone who voted. Well done lee awesome fish mate.

I'm hoping this year will be a very fishy year for everyone. I will be keeping my eyes open for any unusual/tropical/big fish being speared.

Good luck to everyone
