Okay.........you can tell how new I am to using floats & stringers.

I use a net bag whenever hunting...but sometimes it is a bit of a hastle.

I'm thinking of buying a float and tie a fish stringer to it.

If someone (I'm sure most of you) could demonstrate how to use a fish stringer and particularly how to tie it to a float...and any additional advise would be highly appreciated.:martial

What I do is to clip the stringer cable to the front of the float where your main line attaches Then I have a carabiner at the other end of the float, I pass the bar of the stringer through this to stop it trailing about in the water. It only takes a couple of seconds to get the bar out of the carabiner.
To string a fish I either pass the bar through the gills and out of the mouth or poke in in 1 eye and out the other depending on the fish. I see your in Egypt, do you have sharks bothering you for your catch?

Ihab, it would depend on what type of fish you intend to string before we can give you the info you need.
The fish I catch are mainly in the 1-3kg range, I always pass the stringer through the top of the fish's head before removing the spear. This is good practice as the method ensures the fish wont wriggle out of your hands when you do remove the spear. By passing the stringer spike though the head you in affect kill the fish as well.
