Finally, a nice day here in S Florida. Grabbed my float and mask/fins and headed for the beach last evening and was greeted by flat seas and about 20’ vis below 10’. Swam out to my favorite drop off on the outside of the 1st reef and had a blast in 35’ of water. This has been the first time I have been out here since the last hurricane and found that the first 100’ + of the reef is buried with sand. What a shame since that was a nice flat reef with lots of holes and good for macro. The rest of the reef is cleaning up nicely and much of the silt I saw after 2nd to last hurricane is gone.
Other than being seriously menaced by a 35’ cigarette boat it was a great way to spend the last hour of the day!
