i boght a riffe float line and it has these 5 inch long monster clips at both ends. the clip at buoy will work, but is a little bulky for a set up like bill MC intire uses. should i make a leader to keep giant clip out of the way? anyone with a riffe float line, help

I forget whether its possible to change the clip on a Riffe float line, but I suspect its not.

One easy solution is to use the Neptonics float line adaptor.

Breakaway Adapters for Floatlines

You have the small pigtail swivel of the adapter next to the gun, and your big clip on the float line is attached to the rear and of the float line extension.

thats the info i am looking fer, thanx

Yes, it's possible to pull the big longline clip of the Riffe floatline. Riffe utilizes a small shackle and pin to hold it on. I'm out of them right now so I can't check to see if it has this at both ends, but I believe it does.

I just remembered that I have a Riffe float line, so I dug it up. On one end, the big tuna clip cannot be removed. But on the other end, the clip is attached by a shackle and can easily be removed. In fact I had done so in order to connect it to a 25 foot Riffe bungee.

So all you have to do is loosen the pin in the shackle, and then you can put whatever sort of clip or swivel you want on it.

i ordered the neptonics extender, so i will use that. BTW the clip that is removable, has the swivel, so i would have to put one on , if i were to remove it. not a big deal, i guess. but it doesnt matter now unless neptonics order doesnt come in time for tournament this weekend, in which case i may do just that. thanks alot guys

Just use a snap swivel like those on my reel lines.

If you need a temporary, I've used knots in 2.5mm tuna line for years. Very easy to make a loop of any length and if you need it neat, use heat shrink. If you melt the ends at the knot it won't come apart for years. I even use it on my spare power bands so I don't have to slit the gun's muzzle. I just went up to the garage to check my Riffe line but Bill beat me with the answer. That Neptonics loop looks nice.

Bill to the rescue...if you tie a knot add a few drops of superglue to it.
