I want the flopper on my shafts to stay open after I shoot a fish. How do you guys adjust it? I have had some success with a hammer. I try to pound it on the side while it's opened. I mostly just get lucky.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I used a pair of needle nosed pliers to press the two sides together a little bit towards the part that is closest to the shaft when the flopper is opened. If you can understand what I meant. It's much easier to do than to describe, I got it right the first time I tried with the pliers. Not much adjustment was needed, just a little tweak and it was perfect. Good luck!

Great description!

Thanks!

A vise works too.

A wise might be even better, more force at least. I tweaked the top side of the flopper in your picture though. I figured that's the side that grabs hold of the shaft first when the flopper is engaging. By tweaking just that side I figured it would also be less likely to prevent the flopper from engaging after a shot.

Thanks for the help guys! There is a vise at our shop. I'll try it out.
