But a great place to work in the water sports field! Florida Sea Base is located in the beautiful Florida Keys, Islamorada to be exact. We are seeking four more persons to fill our vacant positions of Coral Reef Mates. You will be working in our sailing program getting the boats and the kids set for a week long adventure. For more specific information about the program, check out our website at www.bsaseabase.org and click on the Coral Reef Sailing link. The base does offer an extensive diving program for the scouts; however, all of those positions have been filled.

This is a Boy Scout High Adventure Base and we are seeking people with high moral standards, a scouting background and the ability to work legally in the USA. A good attitude, a great smile and a high level of enthusiasm are also required. A theatrical or drama background (for Luaus), sailing experience and a driver's license would all be nice but are not required. You will have the opportunity to do some recreational diving and fishing on your time off not to mention a foot in the door for future seasons that will require dive masters and instructors...

So, what does this position offer? Being as these are entry-level positions, the pay is $200 per week. BUT! Your room and board are also included (and we have an awesome galley staff here!) Uniforms are included, free internet, a staff lounge, and lots of little perks such as the aforementioned rec diving in the Florida Keys from the staff or program boats... This is a seasonal position and we are looking for spring staff. The dates of your contract would be February 11 through approximately the 30th of April. We are somewhat flexible on the dates, more so at the end of the season. Subsequently, you may be invited back for the summer season...

This is a fun place to work, people! You will make lifelong friendships and be part of a life changing experience for young scouts! If you would like to apply, go to the website (www.bsaseabase.org) and click on the employment link. Fill out the application and send it in (ASAP!) to my attention, Capt. Rich Beliveau. You can fax it if you like to (305) 664-5632, also to my attention. My e-mail is rbelivea@netbsa.org if you have any questions but we need the actual application as it is shown on the Seabase website to consider you. Thanks and good luck!
