Possibly going to Florida this Christmas, exact location not yet decided. In order to nudge my significant other in the right direction, any recommendations of nice dive sites? No spearo, just looking ... Freediving schools for dive buddys are also interesting :)

Assuming you both have wetsuits that will keep you comfortable in 70 degreeF water, the easiest, most reliable winter diving is in the springs. Central Florida has tons of them, Blue Springs, Ginnie, Peacock, Troy, Morrisson, lots more. Very clear, lots of life, fascinating for a new experience.

Otherwise, you will mostly be boat diving in iffy weather. Hit the weather wrong and your significant other won't be very happy.
