I would post this to the technical diving threads, but it does not appear that anyone really looks at those anymore.

My question is:
Does anyone know who or what teams do the exploratory dives for mapping the Floridan Aquifer?
Also, I have done some freediving in Warm Mineral Springs down in Venice, FL. and would like to find out who or what teams have some archeological/geological dives down there (or at least, what research-resources are available on these subjects).
This is more to satiate my curiosity more than anything- I'm kind of a big geek when it comes to this stuff.
Thanks for your time mates.

Hi Mike,

Try Googleing Warm Mineral Springs, Little Salt Springs, especially the latter will give you some history. U of Miami has a lock on Little Salt, but you can find out what they are doing. General cave diving, TampaDiving.com :: Your Source for Tampa Bay Boating & Diving Information is a good place to start, check their links. They link to some good shops. Google: Florida caves, Tampa cave diving, central Florida cave divng, Tallahassee cave diving, Florida cave diving. The combination should lead you to just about everything that is available. There is a very active cave mapping group in Tallahassee, but I don't know the name.

Any interest in doing some more freediving down a line in Warm Mineral?

Hey Conner,
Me and a buddy went diving with you last year down in Warm Mineral. I didn't realize some of the archeological finds they've found preserved down there. I do want to dive a line down there again sometime in the near future- working alot right now (like 7 days a week) but hopefully that will let up in a few weeks. I have your number if it's still the same.
What were those publications you suggested for apnea training? I need to pick up some training manuals. Been doing alot of physical training, including pool work- could use some apnea drills.
Thanks for the suggestions, I've done some googling and really only found the Woodville Karst Plain Project. About The WKPP | Global Underwater Explorers
If anyone has any additional suggestions, I'd appreciate them.

I remember. Call me when you want to try it again.

Pelizarri's "Manual of Freediving" is about the best out there, great long term reference. You might do almost as well using the search function and or asking some questions here. Or, give me a call and lets talk about it.
