Hey guys I've visited this forum for quite some time and now it's time for a question. I've been doing a few small competitions in Denmark and feel that now is the right time to buy a professional monofin.

I've looked at the "Flyer Professional" from Leaderfins which I feel will do the job for me. According to www.leaderfins.com the "Flyer Pro." model is the best for dynamic fins and it should give an advantage in 0,5-1 sec for 50 m comparing with usual monofins.

My weight is 70kg, I'm 184 heigh (18 years old and still growing) so I expect to choose a medium softness (so I don't have to switch my fin in a few months). How about the fin size? I've heard that the most common/standard size is 70 x 72, but what size should I choose with my height/weight/technic (1/2 kick(s) and glide). My physical condition haven't been any better and my personal record with fins (dyn) is 130m.

I'm aware that the footpockets on the "flyer pro." are extremely painful, but I've made my mind and this wont stop me from buying "Flyer Professional" from Leaderfins, but if anyone of you got bad experince with this fin then I'm open for qualificated arguments.

Is there a better monofin for Dynamic?
Sorry about the many questions, but I haven't got a freediving club near me so I can't get much advice but from here :)

Hej Ulrik,

I am in a similar stage of monofin research, and really appreciate "the qualified input" too. There is a lot to read. The people who post here are really experienced, knowledgeable and passionate about it.

Based on some discussions of customer service (in the WW-Glide vs LeaderFins Hyper thread), I'm more leaning towards a fin from Triton. Other companies may improve customer service in the time to come. However, I live very far away from all the makers, and will be buying a fin in the next month. The technical, blended with customer service is valuable.

I look forward to hearing what you decide. :)

Thank you for the quick reply and yes it's quite some jungle out there. According to the research I have made Hyperfins are all round and more comfortable then flyerfins? And correct me if I'm wrong, but Flyer fins are better horizontal because of a lower water resistance.

The Triton company is from Ukraine and you never know when Russia is gonna invade Ukraine right? :p But maybe your right, atleast I will go read that post you talked about.

Thanks again
Ulrik

I have a hyperfin from Max at Triton - I suggest you email him with your requirements and see what he says. He builds each fin for the build, experience and purpose of each person. His customer service is excellent.

I have also dealt with Leaderfins. Maksym there is very knowlegeable and helpful and will also respond to emails promptly.

I have the flyer pro and the chen-bin and have tried the hyperfin. The flyer pro and chen bin have similar performance, except that the chen-bin has almost no buoyancy change, and the flyer pro has a big buoyancy change. For me this is the critical difference.
