Hey guys, i leave for puerto rico tommorow, flying out of newark on AA, I was wondering if im going to have any problems transporting my gear! My pole spears will be in my surfboard bag and my heads will be with the tent, both of which are being checked in. Ive done this previously on Continental but this was before the sept 11 tradegy. Any advice, help, commments would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You!

i have flown twice since sept 11th with my 60' spear gun and pole spear - no problems.........i checked both......i placed them both in 4in diameter PVC and secured both ends....the only thing protruding from the pipe was the handle of the gun - it caught a lot of looks from weary passengers and airline officials, but there were no real problems.....i made sure to explain to the airline people when i checked in what it was and they were fine with it.....good luck and have fun
