hi, im flying out to Croatia in september and was hoping to take my speargun with me, im guessing i wont be able to have it as hand luggage! has anyone got experience flying with spearguns? any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers.

hi,
i usually put my guns into a fishing rod bag or proper speargun bag and tell the check in people that they're fishing equipment!
never had any probs that way, just don't use the gun word!!!!

Buy a sewage plastic pipe and a ski bag,
put guns in the pipe and then in the bag
that way they won't break
and make sure you tell at check in that it is fishing gear not guns

I flew back from cyprus with my first speargun about three years ago, i was quite suprised how no one really cared both in cyprus or in luton when i picked it up from oversized baggage. I dont mean to make you 'suck eggs' but if it is pneaumatic it needs to be de-pressurized. Just got back from 10 days in croatia.
