Hi.
I have fins omer millenium competition with omer millenium footpocket. I'd like to have carbon blades. I think about C4 falcon 40 blades. Do C4 falcon blades suit to omer millenium footpocket? Which carbon blades suit to omer millenium footpocket?

Hi,

I think you won´t have any problems. C4 will fit most footpockets on the market (nearly all with minor adjustments), including Omer...

Yes they fit together perfectly. I just warn you that the 40 are the stiffest hard type.
The medium Falcon 30 are a good compromise: they have the snap to dive any depth, but you can also swim pretty comfortably for long distance if you have a trained leg.

I could be wrong here, but I was under the impression that the standard millenium did not have the plastic clips on the tip like you find on the bat or Rekord III, if they don't how much of an issue will that be.

I've tried the C4/30 , they felt great , good for surface swiming (but not as good as my medium hybrid) great for deep diving (as good as my medium hybrid) for me at least for me (I am 6 foot 165 lb).

I don't understand, my dear Alaska-frozen friend :))) if you refer to the clips at the end of the side stiffeners (that sort of "horns"), or to the rubber T rails all along the blades...
Well all the Millennium pockets I've seen do have clips at the end of the "horns", while the previous older Omer "Valerio Grassi" did not have such clips if I remember well. As for the T rails I don't know how fundamental trhey are with medium/stiff blades, but one could always buy them as a separate spare piece if needed.
Hey those Hybrids must be good! We d0n't have them here in So.Eur. :head

i have the same ones spago, they are from estonia...i tried the c4's and found my medium hybrids to be much better, again thats my personal preference, im sure the c4 are a great quality fin

Ok Spaghetti, I was refering to the horns, so most I've most likely mixed the models on the millenimum fin, since I've notice the some millenium fin without them, but you would not be able to buy them separate since the actuall foot pocket has a notch in order to fit them.

About the hybrids, they are very good, but just like the Mr. Carbon, you have to sell your kidney for them specially if you are making U.S. dollars (their price did come down from 399 EU a piece to 320). Darn airline broke one my blades on the last trip to Brazil, (just the tip), heart breaking and pocket breaking, main reason I am kind of shopping for fins!

BTW, Marwan was the reason I've bought the medium hybrid, later on that year I've also bought an pair of hard, those last ones, I would not recomend, they are too stiff at least for me.

320 euro a piece means 320 euro for a single fin?
However, having not tried the Hybrids, the only thing I have to say about this Hybrid vs Falcon confrontation is the following:
there are (a few) cars with more speed, thrust and comfort than a Ferrari. But a Ferrari is a Ferrari, the others are just....cars. C4 is the Ferrari of fins, Hybrids maybe the TVR...
This is my thought, maybe itì's just because I'm italian, or maybe its just because I'm growing old...Or maybe, again, it's just because...I have a Ford!!!rofl

They are 320 a pair, I've tried a pair C4/30 flaps, then my medium hybrid, the medium hybrid was better for surface swiming but it felt the same on deep dives, I like to think that the hybrid will not break as easy as the C4. But may be the breakage is just a myth. But here in US a pair of C4 will set you down to at least 400 US you kick another 100 and get the hybrid, that was my line of tought.

To be honest, in more then 10 years they've been around, I've heard of only one case of Falcons which got broken. The fragility of carbon fins, of any brand, is just urban legend.
The only serious exception were the carbon Sporasub fins, but they were just poor in quality as product, no matter carbon or not carbon....

i think also it depends on the application.im not so sure that the medium hybrids would be better of your in constant weight freedving, (where no surface swimming is needed), maybe the c4 would be better for that., the medium hybrid is much better all round for spearfishing mainly..different application..different fin..

Well if cost is not an issue, I would still go with the medium hybrid, about the surface swimming, I did not try the C4/30 on strong currents, I am not sure how much of compromisse they would be. After getting the hybrids, I've never found my self so mobile in water as I am today.

this is foto footpocket omer millenium:

This pocket will take all the blades mentioned.

Spaghetti was correct once again.

C4, Specialfins and many others.
