Ladies, your advice on euro size 36/37, for bare-feet, freediving footpockets/fins would be greatly appreciated. Where could I find something like this? What fins/footpockets do you use? (I do not think any previous thread gave definite answer).

Thank you very mych. :)

The best I found for barefoot were imersion fins (a bit smaller than Omer and Cressi) but even they were a bit big so I always had to wear socks with them, I dont think anyone makes them as an off the shelf product (why?) it might be worth contacting Leaderfins at info@leaderfins.com to see what they say, Anastassia is super helpfull :)

This week end I faced the same problem.
I wanted to buy some freediving fins for my girlfriend.
But the guy in the shop explained us that the smaller fins are european size 38.
How can I solve this problem?

Thanks for your help.

Nicolas

I have a size 37 foot - to make the footpocket fit, I have stuck neoprene around the inside of the footpocket and also use a fin retainer to hold the fin on my foot - works for me. Also helps to wear a sock, but it works without as well....

I guess you are referring to Stereos ? For Monofins, there are traditional footpockets down to European size 35.
Specialfins adjusts the Omer footpockets to sub-38 sizes by cutting off the heel and fixing a rubber strap. So that's a solution for Stereos, too.

I have searched for years for freedivingfins that would fit with no luck. I’ve got everything from no, to a nice email from OMER telling me that there’s no profit in making smaller foot pocket sizes for them. Let’s hope this change with the growth of this sport.
WaterWay fits smaller feet but they are a killer on your feet. I can only use them for shorter periods of time so if you are going to use the fin for more than an hour there’s socks, filling like Donna suggested, I also use duck tape to since they usually are to wide for my feet.

I discovered that Breier is making personal modelled fins.
Perhaps you could be interested in.
As with my girlfriend we are still beginners, it doesn't interest us.

Tank’s nikho mo,

I’ll have a look at them, sounds like I need one more monofin in spring ;) .

this whole problem is why I learnt to freedive from the start in a monofin - glad of it now but at the time I was so mad that I couldn't get bi fins to fit.

I now have a pair of cressi gara 3000s - they are two sizes to big but just about ok with thick socks. I forgot the socks the other day and went to push off to demo Dynamic technique to a pool full of mermaid challenge girls - both fins fell off - and god I looked stupid! Still it made them laugh......

You are telling me that the best way si to wear bigger fins (size 38) with 5-7 mm socks.
That is what the guy in the shop told us.
But he did not convince me.

Wearing thick socks is not the best way - but the only way of you have small feet.... its not ideal, but it works....

Donna.

If you dive in the sea (Mediterranean for example).
What is the ideal thickness of the socks.
Thanks.

Hi Nicolas,
I have 3mm socks from Elios - smoothskin on the outside. I wear these socks out here in Cyprus and my feet are always warm - I've also worn them in the cold waters of the NADC (saltfree) in the winter months and my feet have been warm then to.

Hope this helps..

I still have some problems with the fins I bought in October for my girlfriend.
I bought a pair of Omer Millenium, but they are too stiff.
I recently changed the fins with the Millenium Winter.
Until now, she did not try these new fins.
I hope she will be able to use them correctly (and not pedaling).
But if she do not manage to use them without pedaling I think I will shorten the fins.

I wanted some advices on how to shorten the fins:
- Which tools do I have to use?
- Which shape?

Thanks for the advice.

Nico

My girl uses either Cressi or Imersion (Esclapez), this are less wide and fits better than the interchangeable blades ones, but with the omer foot pockets the 5mm sock makes wonders, our waters here in Puerto Rico are very warm, 81F almost year long, she can use the bigger wider foot pockets with no problem, before than, long swims would hurt her feet, on deep ones she don't loose her fins.
I have cut fins before, just make them shorter, thats all.
