ok here is the problem. I have a couple pairs of fins. Picasso Black team and Cressi Gara 3000ld. I love the black teams but I have narrow feet and the picasso foot pockets dont fit that well. As for the Garas, the foot pocket is a perfect fit and I love the fins. With the Garas I don't need to wear any type of fin keeper or sock over the fin to keep them on. They just fit right and stay on with NO problems.

What I am now looking for is a new set of foot pockets that fit my narrow feet like the Cressi Garas do but with a interchangable blade system. If the Garas were replaceable blades they would be prefect. I am wanting to try some of the carbonfiber/fiberglass blades.

So now I am looking for a new set of foot pockets to be able to change blades as needed. Does anyone know what other foot pockets out there fit narrow feet as well as the Garas?

I know the Picasso and Omer foot pockets are to wide. Who else makes a narrow foot pocket?

Hi

I've had the fortune of using a fair few different kinds of pockets through work and i have narrow feet aswell, i am currently using OMER millenium Pigaso which are great but do need to wear a sock to fill in the pocket a bit better.

Another option which is VERY close in shape is the Beuchat Mundial foot pockets which i think are almost as comfortable as the Cressi pockets and have a VERY similar if not the same shape. these pockets can use different blades however some blades need a bit of work to fit in.

Do not fall into the trap of Spetton/Aquatic teknosport pockets i was told these were very similar to the cressis so i ordered a pair and i can tell you right now they are very powerful pockets but nothing like the cressi for comfort or fit (for me that is).

hope this helps

DD

PS i also have a friend who uses beuchat pockets with Mtechnics carbon blades and the combination is ABSALUTELY fantastic, probably the best fins i have ever used along with OMER REKORD 3's.

I have your answer, .......................they are called Beuchat footpockets. Very similar to the ergonomics of the Cressi and with the ability to change out the blades. Some members know a lot about custom guns, wetsuits, or masks, but I have a fin fetish and can hold my own when discussing fins. The Beuchats are what you should be looking at.

Jim

Thanks Jim! I was looking at those on some site and was wondering how the footpockets were. Plus they sold the footpockets separate. Now all I have to do is remember where I saw them lol They were pretty inexpensive to (if I remember right)

Hmmmmmm, where could that have been???

:wave [look below and click on link]

Are the footpockets on the mundial sport and comp the same footpockets?

You might be the right person to ask this (seeing how you have a fin fetish and all) lol

Do you have a link to some reviews on all the different fins? I remember reading a review where the testers took a good amount of fins from a large group of manufacturers and tested them all together at the same time. Rating each one in a couple different catagories. I don't remember what site I read that reveiw on. So I'm hoping you know which article I'm talking about. Or can at least point towards something similar.

Yes, Beuchat foot-pockets are the same for all their freediving fins - also for the fiberglass (they are beautiful!) and the carbons (very nice and well made too, though quite expensive), so you'll be able to change the blades as you need. Just blades from other manufacturers won't fit easily in Beuchat pockets unless you ask them for it. Mostly you'll be able to adjust them or glue the blades in, but if you want to keep easy exchangeability, you better ask for Beuchat compatible blades

thanks, thats good to know. I'm not sure which blades I'll be going with yet. But I'll be sure to make sure that they are compatable with the Beuchat footpockets. Beuchat is not that popular here in the states but seems to be pretty big everywhere else. Will finding carbon blades for them that fit the footpockets correctly be a problem? I havn't started to research it yet so I have no idea.

I saw carbon blades for Beuchat foot-pockets from Beuchat, C4, Breier, Pierre Van Eecke, and some others, but probably most of other manufacturers will be able to ship blades for Beuchats too

EDIT: although I had the information about C4 blades for Beuchat from C4 representatives, Nata (directly from C4 Carbon) denied here on DB that they can ship any other than standard blades, so take C4 away from the list above

Has anyone been able to fit Beuchat footpockets on any of the Omer blades?

What is different on Beuchat pockets is the fixation holes position and the thickness of the rails. Otherwise the dimension of the pocket part is the same, and the blade will fit in. So you won't be able to fix the blades with screws, and may have problems putting firmly the smaller rubber rails on the blade edges, but you can alwys glue it all together.

Ivo, I should put you on the payroll for answering all the questions! I start reading, get ready to type out the answer, and you have already beat me to it with a post that is verbatim to what I was thinking. My keyboard and fingers thank you .
