Hi! Thought some of you speargun builders and speargun collectionists (and... yes, maybe real spearfishers too ;-) ) would enjoy some inspiration from a close look at the forthcoming new C4 steelslinger. It's called Mister Dark, and it claims twice the mass of the previous Mister Carbon model, but with sleeker hydrodynamics. So says the manufacturer. Features: new trigger mech with in-built line release (that's quite an event for C4: trigger design of their guns has been the same ever since 2001); new muzzle for tied bulk rubber; a very fat belly to keep gun's mass on the rear of the stock. Not yet available for purchase. Will be from december, in sizes 61, 79, 94, 104 and 119 centimeters. Price: unknown.
Here it is: http://www.c4carbon.com/Prodotti/Mr-Dark

Ah, forgot the stealthy recessed reel. And the shaft slider (sort of rail, but flat)

Ha ha ha! There actually could be a little gun inside the belly (as a spare?). I never tried any of this "bullpup" spearguns with all the mass in rear. Don't know if it fits my shooting habits. Prabably it is much about hype and fashion, as 20 years ago spearguns "had to" be thick and heavy, ten years ago they "had to" be slim and handy, then back again to heavy guns, and now heavy guns but with all the weight in the rear section....The gun I shot more fish with, ever, was a 40 Euros worth Sporasub Aspic, a simple tube of alloy...But then bullpup design must make some sense, as all modern firearms are made that way lately: https://www.google.it/images?hl=it&...lt_group&ei=lXNSVIKaCc_larTOgeAC&ved=0CBQQsAQ

They are pretty cool I'll give em that.

I'd like a play that's for sure.

Hmmm... pretty standard stuff for C4, looks basically like every other gun they make - it would be nice to see them try something different.

Ugly carbon work on the muzzle - after making basically the exact same gun for 10 years, you'd have thought that they could have refined the art a little. I'd be more interested in taking one apart than using one - I'd like to see how they make they make the internals of the barrel.

I'd prefer to see them make a consumer focused 3k weave moulded gun, rather than a less pleasing 12k hand-finished one that's more expensive - lets face it, carbon is pointless apart from looks, may as well mould it in 3k with a GRP handle / trigger guard - make it look great at a decent price-point.

I like the quote from Marco Bonfanti... "Can I double the mass and, at the same time, increase the manageability?"... sounds like he 'goes' for big girls then
The C4 guns are cool but a bit odd... and calling them 'Mr' anything is even more odd! I reckon creating mass at the rear of the gun is more of an illusory concept/styling than actually being practical (like a skeleton gun)... but who knows I couldn't afford one anyway!
Always good to see something different though... thanks for posting spaghetti!
