Hi there,

I am going to buy a kayak for spearfishing offshore. My questions is whether it is any use to have a fish finder for something like $300. I can imagine that it is sometimes usefull to map the sea floor and mark way points to some interesting reef sites, but does it really helps to find fish, especially in the blue. For instance is it usefull in terms of paddeling around until your fish finder shows you a shoal instead of doing one exhaustive dives after dives without spotting anything????

Thanks for advises/opinions.

cheers
