If this is not been talked about!
For those with big feet! You know what they say about men with big feet; they have a problem finding big enough foot pockets in free diving fins to fit with 5mm. or thicker socks. Personally I have size 14 shoe size and I have had different free diving fins hoping to find ones that would fit me with at least 3mm socks or thicker (no such luck) So here is the solution; last spring I used hot knife to cut my Cressi 2000 fins and poked holes on each side with a hot nail. Now I have used them for a full year with socks in thickness from 3mm to 8mm and I’m able to adjust the shoelaces for the season. Also, I use XL fin keepers to take some stress off the shoelaces so they don’t tear. So far there are no tears anywhere!

Very cool. Kind of like C4 Mustangs on a budget ! Where do you dive in Minnesota ?

A while ago I spent a summer and a winter close to Mankato. Wasn't freediving then, but I remember the lakes in the area, and can't imagine diving in one of them. How is the visibitly ?

Visibility 5 to 10 feet sometimes I can not see my hand extended or I bump in the bottom while going down, that is a weird feeling and I am happy I have a float line that connects me to the surface, in casa I get lost.

Yep. Just as I remembered.
Dive safe and thanks for sharing the fin lace-up trick.

I asked this question awhile back but never have modified my footpockets. Someone gave me this link: Grot. Same idea, just a pictorial of how he did it.
