hey guys, just got a couple of questions regarding frc diving with a mask. Currently im stuck around 28m with a mask with running out of air for equilising the main barrier. my questions are what depth would be ideal to perform my mouth fill? (currently mouth filling at 13-15m) and what depth do you stop equilising your mask? (this is what is killing me, no problems mouth filling but equilising the mask robs me of air eventually causing me to abort my dive...)

cheers guys

For FRC diving I mouthfill at 13-16m. Equalize the mask at that same depth. If you are using a Sphera, then you don't need to equalize the mask ever again. The sphera can be taken to 35-40m from the surface, without ever equalizing it.

With a really big and effective mouthfill, you should be able to equalize a non-sphera mask very deep as well.

thanks for the info efattah

i will definently give that a go.... looking back at it now i was equilising my mask way to late... (around 20-22m from memory) hopefully going out to some deeper water tomorrow so i can give it go...

cheers
