hey crew,

just thought i would post some updates on my training. Had a couple of new PB managed 3.30 frc dive in the pool, distance covered was around 30ish m. Probably could have gone further but didnt want to push it. Today i went down the pool and thought might do an exhale warm up dynamic. Let out about 3/4 of my air and went, did 25m pretty easy turned and went back to the 50 mark, then turned again and came up to the 75m mark. I surface because i was shocked to find that i had covered that distance with relative ease. Finished the training session with 20 25m underwater swims with about 2 breathe recoveries between. Wasnt to bad just had a good build up of lactic acid XD. Look forward to hearing how you other guys are going?

Cheers,

dive safe

Thanks for this great thread. This one and others have been a big help to me in getting started with training.

I've been spearfishing for a while, but feel like a kid at Christmas with the rapid progress I'm seeing in the pool. Sort of like I've been doing it the hard way forever! Looking forward to seeing how it translates with "working dives" in the ocean under less than ideal conditions.

hey crew just posting an update on my training,

slowly getting to 4 mins in the pool with frc diving best time being 3.45mins which included a 30mish swim (haha turns are killing me atm) been adding a no warm up max dynamic on frc at the start of training now swimming over 100m on frc. Not sure on the exact distance will have to measure the pool length pretty sure its over 25m.

havent had much deep diving of late the weather has been pretty nasty. Decided to go for a dive on the weekend and dropped my fin off the back of the boat . LOL 30mins of diving one legged in 20m looking for my fin HAHA.

Looking forward to hearing how you guys are going?

cheers

Ktrloar what are you doing the rest of the time when not swimming the 30m ish. Static on the bottom/surface? Good time you have there anyways!! :)

I have also only dived on frc for 6 months now or so, my best results being a 109m DNF with a 30 s bottom static at the beginning.
Now I only dive in a lake that is 14m deep and working on a flawless mouthfill technique by diving on low filled lungs...

Hey PolishPower,

im just doing a static on the bottom of the pool weighted negatively, working on relaxation more then anything. My hard training dives are where i wear a 3mm suit and weight myself to be negative. I will do a 2 min static on the bottom of the pool and swim till i get to just over 3 mins. These dives are killers, mainly because the amount of lactic acid that is created by all the extra drag of the wetsuit and weights XD

my frc dive times in the ocean are:

longest time was at 8m for a dive time of nearly 3:20 mins
deepest long dive is was at 18 -20m for 2:40 mins

Cheers
