If you are that new to spearfishing, do you expect to be hunting with a pole-spear at 60 feet? You must be pretty new if you are just getting the gear. How much freediving experience do you have?
Where will you be diving and what species of fish do you expect to target? Mako makes some pretty nice gear and they have excellent support. I can't see you going wrong with their equipment. A guy I dive with regularly is completely Mako outfitted and is one of the most successful hunters.
