As you guys (well, Loopy at least) or all so verbally talented... how about extending the Deepest Bears freedive haiku competition to this forum...
for the uninitiated a haiku is a 3 line poem with 5 syllables, then 7 then 5. Here are some examples:

Sam's Haikus

approaching blackout haiku

sliding through the blue
I wonder what those bells are
ringing through my brain

hawaii haiku

sunning out on deck
I think about the wisdom
of this crazy sport

PB Haiku

No need to breath yet
swim down a little further...
up clean and it's mine!

Haikus from Peter S

flexing angel fins
I ascend to the Breath and
thank God for my life.

Haiku from Mark H

Diving can be free
The oceans ask for nothing
It's the kit that costs

an anonymous haiku.. the winner so far!

The Deep Blue calls me
I could stay furever but....
Honey calls me back

Prize of Deepest Bear t shirt to the best one!

Sam and Deepest Bear

Sayings from "The Bear"

Words from Deepest Bear
The time has come for diving
Sinking deep brings peace

Adrian

O Lube!

O Lube

my lube so slimy
where does it come from, you ask
you don't want to know

Another one

what is that thing for?
she points at my monofin
"Making vapour trails"

Pete
Vancouver, BC

from "The Bear's" travels...

Trade winds blow, waves surge,
Coral islands gleam in light
Flying fish skim waves

Adrian

another one

Sunlight shimmers down
As I look up through the Blue
Memories of air

Peter S.

Hmmm, this is hard...

It's all fun and games,
Until someone gets sucked up,
Into a pool vent

Hmmm, lemme think about this one :)

Laminar and Amhibious have me peeing in my wetsuit! Classic!
:waterwork
Cheers,
Erik Y.

Dark

"Void still calling me,
with tears my heart slowly stops.
I must see my self"

Erik Y.

Games like this are fine,
keeps me thinking all the time
I just can't count

more haiku to dive by

Pack-stretches-Part 1

With fish lips I pack
My face turns red, I grimace-
"you look cool," she says.

Pack-stretches-Part 2

Tunnel vision comes
A glimpse of sweet nirvana-
My head hits the floor.

:)

Contractions

One anaconda
Wrapped around my chest and neck
Squeezes now and then.

Heads up and then breathe,
Doing the funky chicken,
Argh! My first samba!

From "The Bear's" Cautionary Tales

Blue, green, something moves
Glimmering fish flee in fear
Shadow sharks approach
