FreeDiveCentral down?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I use to check the Freedive Central website rather regularly, and always thought it had a great potential, but unfortunately it looks like it was taken offline today. Or maybe the owner just forgot renewing the domain name - in any case, I am now getting the usual domain squatter placeholder at free dive central prescott arizona at freedivecentral.com. Remains hoping it is just a temporary situation.

hi trux
my website has gone down as well for no apparent reason :( tyring to get it fixed. cant even get into the backend.

Yes, it went back online shortly after I posted here.
Sara - yes, http://divasindubai.com returns an empty page (zero bytes long), but the forum works (Discussion Forums for Scuba Diving, Freediving in the United Arab Emirates - Powered by vBulletin), so it is not a problem of domain resolution, but rather the index.php scirpt is either broken, or the underlaying database is corrupted. If you can connect to it via FTP, verify if the index.php file is all right - reupload a backup copy. If it does not help, contact the host to look at it or to restore the website from the last backup.

hi Ivo

i actually backed up the whole lot the other from the ftp site - i just downloaded the whole site on to an external hard disk. i wouldnt know if the index.php file is ok, i have asked for help/advice from the guy who wrote it for me. i'll try uploading the backed up one and see if it works.

if i connect via ftp, all the files are there still and there have been no changes at all. i have had some problems with it for a few weeks as i forgot my password, then checked it out on the config.php and even that one doesnt work. i asked for a new one and it doesnt send me the email... I have asked my nephew who knows php to help for a few $$$$ (that's the only thing that works with them these days rofl)

Well, Sara, maybe you have mistakenly corrupted the config.php when looking for the password - try putting back an older version. However, any time you replace files, make sure that you save the current ones - you never know which version is actually better and may regret if you deleted it prematurely.
