I'm just above Kealakekua Bay in Captain Cook, 10 miles south of Kona on the Big Island. I know that there is a lot of freediving in the area, but I haven't found any groups on the web. I'm going to check in with some of the dive shops in Kealakekua, but was wondering if anybody on the forum is looking for a dive buddy. I have a really open schedule, but I like to get down to the bay in the early morning because that's when the dolphins come. If not then, later in the afternoon is also good to miss the tourists.

just so you know, I'm a complete beginner, just developing a technique.
thanks!

I'll be in the Kona area Dec 9th-13th, if you want to do a dive. I'd love to check out the bay in the am, did it once before, prior to any freediving training, and it was pretty sweet to hang out with the dolphins.

@Jennywren,
sorry to have missed you! truth be told I got sidetracked into surfing. man, that sport is like a black hole, just sucking in whatever gets into its vortex. anyway, hope you had a good time!
