Don't know if it's been mentioned already but this sunday on animal planet a show called freediver will be aired at 8 pm est.

Re: Freediver film on Animal Planet, Tanya Streeter hosting

Hey Gil

There's a press release up on this site about the film that will air on Sunday on Animal Planet........so check it out for more info. Not sure what time it will air in Seattle, so check your local listings. It's 8pm EST and repeated again at 11pm EST. I believe it will air again next Saturday too, and probably stay in rotation for a while. I haven't seen the trailer yet on APL, so I don't know what you've already heard about te film. It's a 2 hour special about me freediving with different marine animals around the world and there are some really beautiful scenes. I hope you enjoy it!!

As always, I look forward to getting some feedback from DB visitors!

Enjoy!

PS, Gil - your website looks great!

How do we know it has a happy ending? Maybe it ends with a shocking syncope, cpr, and funeral :)

I guess we'll have to watch it and see...

She must be happy to be able to dive and maybe even be paid for it.
Glad that she is still at it.

Jeez Eric! Thanks!!! :vangry

No blackouts or sad endings, just a really nice film about our sport in a NON competitive way!!!

Animal Planet are running the trailers regularly....check it out.

I hereby promise you a happy ending :inlove

Tanya

Anybody know when it will air in the Netherlands ?
Can't find it on the listings anywhere.

Or is someone maybe able to record it ? (if have enough ftp / hosting space)
I would reeeeeeaaaaaly like to see this great program.

Al the other stuf about Tania hasn't been showed here either ;-(

Does anyone know if us backwards Europeans will get to see all the loveliness too? On the other side of this Animal Planet? Are these the shows with the whales and on the Galapogos Islands? Which aired on the BBC? But that was only one hour total; is this more of that extraordinary type footage? She dove underneath a humpback with calf... :inlove There's no trailer on the Animal Planet site, but is it online anywhere?

Am i asking too many questions?

And if we were in competiton with freediving animals, which ones would we beat? We'd come in last every time, right? Did you ever dive with a dolphin/turtle/penguin and get that look from them that athletes reserve for people from the Special Olympics who try and keep up with them?

Nice.......way to keep things positive, Eric......:(

Excellent ending Tanya! great show.
Some of the best underwater footage I have ever seen.

btw I didn't think that your goggles looked to big.

GREAT show!! Diving with the humpbacks musta been one heckuva thrill.

My only wee quibble is that there wasn't ENOUGH underwater footage -- the stuff on land was okay, but anybody can do that. Not many people can freedive like Tanya.

Here's hoping BBC or Animal Planet release a video with LOTS of the extra underwater footage that any show of this length I imagine would require.

Juan-John :)

It was an amazing show. The underwater footage was awesome, especially the part with the humpbacks.

Amazingly beautiful footage. The interactions with all the animals looked so enjoyable. makes me want to go to Belize.

Great show. The footage was amazing, and the whole thing looked like an absolute blast. I loved the iguanas, the birds...heck, all the critters were fascinating. Almost ended up watching it twice :D.

is this the same stuff that aired in the UK recently? if so it was fantastic

I am thinking of introducing iguanas to Chepstow

Very nice job Tanya and crew! Looks like you had an awesome time in Belize.
I like the blue hole dive with the water scooter... I'd love to try that sometime.

Does anyone know the name of the helmet attached to her scuba bottle? That was a cool setup with the voice communications and everything.

Great show! I only wish there were more underwater footage :)

p.s. Hmm.. How about introducing humpback whales to Great Lakes? :duh

Hi all!!

I am soooo glad you enjoyed the film. We had a lot of fun on the various shoots, and - believe me when I tell you - the film crew make me look a lot better than I really am!!! A lot of terrible takes ended up on the edit room floor, so I owe those guys a bunch.

Sam, the film that aired in the USA last night on Animal Planet was essentially a compilation of the 3 films that have already aired in the UK (Belize, Whales & Galapagos), edited together into a 2 hour special, including commercials. Hopefully it will get the same great reception here as each film got in the UK - we got nominated for a BAFTA for the humpback part!!

As far as I know FreeDiver is slated to air again this Saturday in the USA, so check your local listings if you're interested in seeing it again.

And thanks so much for the positive feedback - it really means a lot to me! Watch this space.....hopefully there will be more films to come.

Tanya
