Hi my name is Brian from Sebastian, Fl. Just starting to get into the sport. Freediving and spear fishing and scuba. Cannot get any of my fishing buddies to take up the sport..... Was just wondering if there were any others in my area to train with? My deepest dive right now was 42 feet with 0 visibility. Figure pushing myself is dangerous alone. Any help would be great

Brian!!
I live in North Miami but would be interested in joining you for some spearfishing anytime... don't mind the drive!!! I took the performance freediving clinic two years ago but I have not been able to go spearfishing
here in Florida. I practice some apnea in the pool once in a while. The only time I go spearfishing is when I go to visit Panama (my native country) 3 to 4 times a year.

Hi Brian,

Watch your pm's for a few weeks. I'll be getting a group together to dive Blue Springs (just north of Orlando) pretty soon. You need at least a 3 mill full suit and a hood.

Can you put me on that list?:)

Ed- Sweet, spearfishing would be great. I don't know how it would compare to Pananma. In shallower where I can actually get to the bottom is alot of Mangrove snapper and the occasional legal gag....mmm triggers.... Hey lobster season is coming up In August......The water starts clearing up usually then....Visibility hasn't been good for a while. But i still love the water...

Connor- Hey I would like to do another spring dive. I totally agree with a full wetsuit.... brrrrrrrrrrrrr... Just let me know when

I just moved to West Palm from Columbus, Ohio and am looking for freedivers in the area. I'd like to get on this list and hopefully do some diving with you guys SOON!

For Blue Springs there are members there just about every weekend. Quite a few local freedivers congregate there and once in awhile some of us out of towners will make the trip.

In Palm Beach there is a local shop catering to freedivers. Always forget the name. Maybe "Jimdoe2you" will chime in. He has the scoop on Palm Beach. Palm Beach generally has a lot of current but I haven't dove there in years.

For those of you freediving in the Palm Beach area, a good place to start is by going by the Freediving Shop in the area, its called Florida Freedivers, and its on US1 just north of the Blue Heron bridge. If you want more information about diving in the area, call me (772.321.8590) and I'd be pleased to share what info I have.

Michael

Not bad I will back down in Nov and again in Dec through January. I love coming home, hopefully my boat will be ready and we can all do some spearfishing.
